Why this course

A practice, not a technique to master in one sitting

For the past three years I’ve taught Breathe to Thrive inside organisations, helping people who spend their days at a desk or on the move rediscover a working relationship with their own breath.

What I noticed, session after session, wasn’t that people needed another technique. It was that breath already runs through everything else, how they take in energy, how they move, how they recover, and most of us have simply lost track of it.

Breath, In Practice takes that same live, six-week structure and opens it up beyond the workplace. Each session pairs a practical breathing skill with what’s actually happening in your nervous system, and I’ll always be honest about where the evidence is solid and where it’s still developing. Not a method to adopt. A practice to notice, and to keep.

What you’ll be practising

How breath already does three things at once

Energy

How breath feeds the body, and why bigger isn’t the same as better.

Movement

Breath moving with you, not against you, through everyday movement.

Recovery

Simple, short ways to help your nervous system find rest.

The connection

None of these are separate. Breath is what was already linking them.

What we’ll cover

Six weeks, one connected practice

We’ll build this gradually, session by session, each one grounded in reflection and evidence rather than technique for its own sake.

I
8 Sept Creating Space for the Breath Posture, ease, and the quiet signals your body reads as safe.
II
15 Sept Getting to Know Your Breath Awareness before change, and why nasal breathing matters.
III
22 Sept Respond or Reflect Choosing when to act, and when to simply notice what a sensation is telling you.
IV
29 Sept Rest and Recovery Short, real moments of recovery, and what the evidence actually supports.
V
6 Oct Building Resilience Working with stress as something adaptable, including what HRV can genuinely tell you, and what it can’t.
VI
13 Oct Adaptability and Integration Bringing it together into a practice, and a sense of safety, that’s genuinely yours.

Gray Caws

I’ve spent over a decade working in movement and breathwork, helping people build a more connected, easeful relationship with how they breathe and move.

As an Oxygen Advantage Master Instructor and Coach, one of a small number worldwide, I’ve spent the last three years teaching Breathe to Thrive inside organisations. Breath, In Practice takes that same live, evidence-based teaching and opens it up beyond the workplace, for anyone who wants six weeks of proper attention on how they breathe, move and recover.

I teach in Porto, where I live and run daily, and online to students across the UK and Europe.

Questions

A few things people ask

No. The course starts from first principles and builds gradually. If you already have a breathwork or movement practice, this will sit alongside it naturally, but it isn’t required.

Not exclusively. I’m an Oxygen Advantage Master Instructor and it informs how I teach, but this course treats breath training as a practice rather than a single method, drawing on evidence wherever it’s useful rather than one school of thought.

All sessions are recorded and included in your booking, so you can catch up in your own time before the next one.

Many participants find breath awareness genuinely helpful alongside how they manage stress, but this course isn’t a substitute for medical care. If you have a specific health condition, do get in touch before booking so we can talk it through.

Just yourself, somewhere quiet enough to sit or move a little, and a reliable internet connection. No equipment needed.

Yes. You’ll keep access to all six recordings so you can revisit the material as you build your own practice.
